Here’s what’s coming up this month:
4/3: Homeschool Hangout - Art with The Columbus Museum (Harris County Public Library, Hamilton)
This month we are thrilled to welcome a special guest from The Columbus Museum, who will guide students through a creative and engaging art experience. During the program, students will have the opportunity to create their own art projects inspired by the museum’s collection, while learning about the diverse works housed at the museum. The presenter will share fascinating insights into the art on display, offering a unique opportunity to explore history, culture, and creativity in a fun and hands-on way. This is a wonderful chance for homeschool families to connect, create, and discover together!
4/4: Homeschool Skate (Starlite Family Fun Center, Sharpsburg)
Inviting all homeschoolers to come skate with us! The first Friday of the month 1:00pm-4:00pm
4/8: Little Sprouts (Columbus Botanical Garden, Columbus)
Lesson: Earth Month! Recycling. 3-5 year olds (+ 1 free caretaker) Get ready for an exciting adventure at Columbus Botanical Garden, where kids will dive into the amazing world of recycling!
4/8: Homeschool Play Day (Chuck E Cheese, Columbus)
On the 2nd Tuesday of every month, join us for Homeschool Play Days! From open – 4pm, score 90-minutes of All You Can Play games, a reusable Play Pass card, unlimited soft drinks, and all the E-Tickets you can earn on gameplay for just $11.99 per kid. A savings of up to $30 off! Simply arrive at your Fun Center and tell a cast member you’re there for Homeschool Play Day to receive this offer.

4/11: Columbus Symphony Orchestra Beethoven & Liszt (RiverCenter for the Performing Arts, Columbus)
Can’t make it out at night? Hard to sit for long periods of time? Or maybe a concert ticket isn’t in your budget this month? Perhaps you want to introduce your music-loving five year old to a symphony orchestra? If you answered YES to any of these questions, Open Rehearsal is for YOU. The afternoon before every concert, we open our hall free of charge to anyone that wants to listen to our final rehearsal. You can stay and listen to the program in its entirety, or poke your head in for five minutes and leave anytime you’re ready to go. The lights stay on, so it’s easy to get to the bathroom, come and go freely, or get up and move a bit in the back of the theatre. And you get to hear some world class music in the process! For concerts in Bill Heard Theatre, Open Rehearsals start at 12:30 and run around 2 hours.
4/16: Homeschool Day (Chehaw Park & Zoo, Albany)
Join us for Homeschool Day in the Zoo on Wednesday, April 16 from 10a-1p! We'll be "shellebrating" Gopher Tortoise Day and highlighting the importance of this native keystone species and its role in the ecosystems it inhabits. We'll have field experts and research scientists joining us, educational programs, activity stations, animal meet & greets, crafts, and more! Zoo Chats: Gopher Tortoise Feeding at 10:30 am, Sulcata Chat and Feeding at 11 am ($3 per person), Aldabra Chat at 11:30 am, Gopher Tortoise Walk (visit at burrow) at 12 pm, Tortoise Paintings in Zoo Plaza at 12:30 pm, Activities are free with Event admission, $12.50 adult, and $8 children (4-12 yrs). 4/16: April Homeschool Hangout - Tissue Paper Flowers! (Hogansville Public Library, Hogansville)
Homeschoolers! Join us for our monthly Homeschool Hangout! We are making 3D tissue paper flowers this month. Bring a friend and come make new friends at the library!
4/16-4/18: Planes, Trains, and things that go Zoom (Springer Opera House, Columbus)
When Junior comes racing into town, he thinks he is better than the others, simply because he is faster. However, when a broken part lands him in the junkyard, he realizes that his need for speed might not be the most important thing. Can Junior learn how to work with a team? Will he discover that he has to stop before he goes? Rev your engines and honk your horns for a journey about teamwork and things that go ZOOM!
4/17: Homeschool Science Days: The Wonders of Water (Callaway Resort & Gardens, Pine Mountain)
In this interactive class, students will dive into the fascinating world of the water cycle using Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) activities. They will learn about the stages of the water cycle through engaging hands-on experiments and demonstrations. Students will explore how water moves through our environment and why it's essential for all living things. By the end of the class, they will have a deeper understanding of water's journey and its vital role in our ecosystem, leaving them inspired to protect this precious resource! Location: Robin Lake Beach Pavilion. Ages: All Ages Welcome. Included with the price of school group admission rates ($12.00 per student and $18.00 per chaperone); FREE for Members. 4/17: Homeschool Day: Ancient April (Atlanta History Museum, Atlanta)
Travel back to the time of empires, dynasties, and early civilizations. We’ll explore some of the mysteries of the ancient world, discover surprising early technology, and learn where you can still see remains of these around the world.
Homeschool Day tickets include access to all Atlanta History Center exhibits and grounds!
4/17: Hooked on Homeschool (Powell Branch Library, Newnan )
Styrofoam Block Printing-- Learn about block printing by using Styrofoam and washable markers. Grades K-12
4/17: Budding Naturalist (Columbus Botanical Garden, Columbus)
Topic: Earth Month! Recycling. 1st-5th grade students (+ 1 free caretaker)

4/22: Majestic Caverns Homeschool Day (Majestic Caverns, Childersburg, AL)
Make your child’s learning come alive and feel like a hero as they both learn and have fun. Explore the depths of our cavern, engage in above ground fun and even have an underground classroom for an unforgettable experience.
4/23: DOT DOT DOT: A New Musical (River Center for the Performing Arts, Columbus)
DOT DOT DOT: A New Musical is an exciting new musical based on the Creatrilogy trio of award-winning picture books by New York Times bestselling author Peter H. Reynolds- The Dot, Ish, and Sky Color. Adapted by Composers Keelay Gipson and Sam Salmond, the musical, like the series, celebrates the power of originality, self-expression, and opening our eyes to look beyond the expected.When Marisol (Sky Color), a young artist and curator of the Musee de Marisol, decides that her gallery requires more than her art, her search for emerging talent leads her to Vashti (The Dot), whose dots inspire Ramon (Ish) to become an artist in his own right. The musical follows Marisol’s journey to help her new friends, and her entire community, break free from self-criticism and learn to let their imaginations soar.
4/24: Homeschool STEAM Day: Ancient Mythology (The Biblical History Center, Lagrange)
STEAM are a fun way for children to learn about daily life in the ancient world, through science and the arts! Each STEAM Day will consist of a snack, a lesson, and a craft or activity. These programs are created to best suit children aged 6-12, but older and younger children are welcome to attend.
4/25: School Day Play (Urban Air Adventure Park, Columbus)
Make the last Friday of the month a special treat! Kids and families can enjoy Urban Air’s thrilling attractions, connect with others, and create lasting memories in a lively, safe environment. It’s the perfect way to reward hard work and bring a little extra fun to the month.
4/30: 3rd Annual Homeschool Hobbytown Market (Pine Mountain)
Students creating, building, and selling products they have worked hard to bring to this market! They are using entrepreneurial, advertising, financial and budgeting skills through this process and encouraging one another along the way. Come out and support these young students as they endeavor to learn about the real world and tap into their inner creativity and real-life skills!

Homeschool Power Hour (Grantville Branch Library, Grantville )
Join us at the Grantville Branch Library as we provide educational resources and activities specifically designed to supplement the homeschool curriculum. The activities will include science projects, STEM activities, book reports, art activities, and much more. Come and join the fun!
Chatt Tales (Chattahoochee Valley Learning Resource Center, Columbus)
Every Monday. 10 am to 11:30 am. Children ages 4 to 7 will enjoy a story led by Suzanne Sheppard, followed by interactive early learning stations building literacy and numeracy, art, science, geography and more.
CVLRC Co-Learn (Chattahoochee Valley Learning Resource Center, Columbus)
Every Tuesday. 9:30 am to 1 pm.Quiet space to complete lessons, work 1:1 with your kids using the play cafe or join other parent facilitators bringing homeschooling into a supportive, community environment.
Art Immersion with Cora King (Chattahoochee Valley Learning Resource Center, Columbus)
Dive into art with local artist Cora King. Explore a world of creativity and imagination as she encourages your child to their next level. High-quality instruction, each week is something new! Join us for a drop in exploration or regularly on Mondays 11:30-12:30. Ages 7 and older. Members $10/child; Non-members $20/child
April 2025 Homeschool Art Classes (Confetti & Canvases Art Studio, Sharpsburg)
Join us for weekly art classes! Artists will explore and expand their creativity while learning about famous artists, art elements, different art mediums, and lots of different techniques!
Homeschool P.E. (Sky Zone, Columbus)
P.E. Break at Sky Sky Zone, Fridays 1pm-3pm // Only $5 per HomeSchool Student (not available during School breaks and Holidays) Discounted jump prices specifically for Homeschool students. Take a break from the books and get some awesome, healthy exercise in on a consistent basis. Not valid during school breaks (i.e., Summer) Discounted prices offered for all HomeSchool students of any age. Every Weekday during the school year between 1pm – 3pm.
