Here’s what’s coming up this month:

  • 3/4: Little Sprouts (Columbus Botanical Garden, Columbus)

    • Lesson: Spring Seeds and Sprouts 3-5 year olds (+ 1 free caretaker) Spring is all about new beginnings, and what better way to celebrate than learning about seeds!

  • 3/6: Homeschool Day at the Capitol (Capitol Building, Atlanta)

    • Attendance at Homeschool Day at the Capitol is open to everyone, but we ask that you register so that we know to expect you. Please register your attendance for this event taking place on March 5th, 2025 at the Capitol Building in Atlanta. Visiting the Capitol and your legislators is always free, but the GHEA educational programming has a small fee. GHEA is offering educational programming on the legislative process and judicial process. This year we have arranged a behind-the-scenes Judicial Tour of the Judicial Center for older students (aged 14-18).  The Judicial Tour is limited to 50 students at the request of the hosting court officials (see below for dress code for this Tour).

  • 3/6: Homeschool Hangout - Sara the Biologist (Harris County Public Library, Hamilton)

    • We're thrilled to welcome Sara Patton, a graduate student from Auburn University, who will be presenting an engaging and educational session all about birds. Sara's research focuses on carotenoid (red/yellow) coloration in birds, and she'll be sharing fascinating insights into how these vibrant colors impact bird behavior and survival. Whether you're curious about local species or the science behind their striking hues, Sara’s expertise promises a fun and informative experience for students of all ages. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to learn from a passionate expert! Mark your calendars and bring your questions—this is sure to be a feathered-filled afternoon of discovery!

  • 3/7: Homeschool Skate (Starlite Family Fun Center, Sharpsburg)

    • Inviting all homeschoolers to come skate with us! The first Friday of the month 1:00pm-4:00pm

  • 3/7: Homeschool Polymer Clay Art (LaGrange Memorial Library, Lagrange)

    • Use your creative skills to create a masterpiece with polymer clay. We will learn basic techniques for making flower petals, animals, and other small objects. Ages 6 and up are welcome!

  • 3/7:  Homeschool Educational Tours (Minter’s Farm, Fayetteville)

    • Join us for a free homeschool event at Freebird Farm! We'll tour the new Environmental Education displays at Minter's Farm's Inman Antique Expo and take a tour of Freebird Farm. Please RSVP on the website.

  • 3/11: Homeschool Play Day (Chuck E Cheese, Columbus)

    • On the 2nd Tuesday of every month, join us for Homeschool Play Days! From open – 4pm, score 90-minutes of All You Can Play games, a reusable Play Pass card, unlimited soft drinks, and all the E-Tickets you can earn on gameplay for just $11.99 per kid. A savings of up to $30 off! Simply arrive at your Fun Center and tell a cast member you’re there for Homeschool Play Day to receive this offer.

  • 3/12:  Homeschool Day (Flint Riverquarium, Albany)

    • Let’s roll out the green carpet for our planet. Spend the day learning about our green plants, animals, and practices. Join us for extra aquarium chats, hands-on education booths, crafts, games, prizes and more! Extra Homeschool Day Activities are included with Admission, $10 adults, $7.50 children and as always members are FREE! *Pricing subject to tax

  • 3/12 & 3/19: Jesus Christ Superstar Arts in Education Performances (Springer Opera House, Columbus)

    • Faith, fame, and betrayal take center stage in one of the greatest stories ever told. This rock opera is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally known story told entirely through song. “Jesus Christ Superstar” explores the personal relationships and struggles between Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, his disciples, and the Roman Empire. The iconic 1970s powerful rock score features hits like “I Don’t Know How to Love Him,” “Heaven on Their Minds,” “Gethsemane,” and “Superstar,” the title song adored by fans around the world. Recommended for ages 10 and up.

  • 3/13:  Majestic Caverns Homeschool Day (Majestic Caverns, Childersburg, AL)

    • Make your child’s learning come alive and feel like a hero as they both learn and have fun. Explore the depths of our cavern, engage in above ground fun and even have an underground classroom for an unforgettable experience.

  • 3/13: Homeschool Science Days: March Mammal Madness (Callaway Resort & Gardens, Pine Mountain)

    • Join us for an exciting class all about mammals! We’ll learn what makes mammals unique, explore different types, discover their habitats, and even meet an educational ambassador mammal. Get ready to play "March Mammal Madness," where we’ll cheer for our favorite mammals in fun, friendly competitions! Perfect for young animal lovers, this class combines learning with games and creativity.   • 3/13: Budding Naturalist (Columbus Botanical Garden, Columbus)

    • Topic: Spring Seeds and Sprouts 1st-5th grade students (+ 1 free caretaker) Spring is all about new beginnings, and what better way to celebrate than learning about seeds! Second Thursday of every month!

  • 3/13: Homeschool at the Park: All About Bamboo (FDR State Park, Pine Mountain)

    • Geared toward families who homeschool. Join Rangers and learn interesting facts about this amazing plant. Make a bamboo walking stick and take a short nature hike. Must pre-register and pre-pay $10 at the park office by calling 706-663-4858. Ages 7 & Up. Meet at the Picnic Shelter below the dam. $5 parking

  • 3/13-3/15: Great Homeschool Convention (South Carolina)

    • With the best home education speakers that you won't find anywhere else, you will have the option of hundreds of info-packed workshops where you will learn practical ideas that you can implement right away. Browse and shop a huge homeschool curriculum exhibit hall that offers the best Homeschooling Resources and Curriculum. We offer the option of a wildly popular Children's Conference and outstanding Special Events for the entire family. A Great Homeschool Convention is an event that you cannot afford to miss!

  • 3/19: Homeschool Hangout (Hogansville Public Library, Hogansville)

    • Homeschoolers! Join us for our monthly homeschool hangout! We are making green slime and eating green food- all things green at this event! Bring a friend and make new friends while you're here at the library. Bonus points if you wear something green! 

  • 3/20: Hooked on Homeschool (Powell Branch Library, Newnan )

    • Mar 20: Chemistry-- We will be experimenting with Chemical and Physical Changes and testing how different chemicals react to each other. Ages 7-12

  • 3/27: Folk Art with Kaitlynn Etheridge (Chattahoochee Valley Learning Resource Center, Columbus)

    • Dive into the world of folk art led by local artist and curator at Columbus Collective Museums, Kaitlynn Etheridge. Create art and enjoy the outside world! Space is limited, must reserve in advance.

  • 3/27: Homeschool STEAM Day: The First Easter (The Biblical History Center, Lagrange)

    • STEAM are a fun way for children to learn about daily life in the ancient world, through science and the arts! Each STEAM Day will consist of a snack, a lesson, and a craft or activity. These programs are created to best suit children aged 6-12, but older and younger children are welcome to attend.

  • 3/28: School Day Play (Urban Air Adventure Park, Columbus) 

    • Make the last Friday of the month a special treat! Kids and families can enjoy Urban Air’s thrilling attractions, connect with others, and create lasting memories in a lively, safe environment. It’s the perfect way to reward hard work and bring a little extra fun to the month.

    Weekly Events:

  • Homeschool Power Hour (Grantville Branch Library, Grantville )

    • Join us at the Grantville Branch Library as we provide educational resources and activities specifically designed to supplement the homeschool curriculum. The activities will include science projects, STEM activities, book reports, art activities, and much more. Come and join the fun!

  • Chatt Tales (Chattahoochee Valley Learning Resource Center, Columbus)

    Every Monday. 10 am to 11:30 am. Children ages 4 to 7 will enjoy a story led by Suzanne Sheppard, followed by interactive early learning stations building literacy and numeracy, art, science, geography and more.

  • CVLRC Co-Learn (Chattahoochee Valley Learning Resource Center, Columbus)

    Every Tuesday. 9:30 am to 1 pm.Quiet space to complete lessons, work 1:1 with your kids using the play cafe or join other parent facilitators bringing homeschooling into a supportive, community environment.

  • Art Immersion with Cora King (Chattahoochee Valley Learning Resource Center, Columbus)

    Dive into art with local artist Cora King. Explore a world of creativity and imagination as she encourages your child to their next level. High-quality instruction, each week is something new! Join us for a drop in exploration or regularly on Mondays 11:30-12:30. Ages 7 and older. Members $10/child; Non-members $20/child

  • March 2025 Homeschool Art Classes (Confetti & Canvases Art Studio, Sharpsburg)

    Join us for weekly art classes! Artists will explore and expand their creativity while learning about famous artists, art elements, different art mediums, and lots of different techniques!

  • Homeschool P.E. (Sky Zone, Columbus)

    P.E. Break at Sky Sky Zone, Fridays 1pm-3pm // Only $5 per HomeSchool Student (not available during School breaks and Holidays) Discounted jump prices specifically for Homeschool students. Take a break from the books and get some awesome, healthy exercise in on a consistent basis. Not valid during school breaks (i.e., Summer) Discounted prices offered for all HomeSchool students of any age. Every Weekday during the school year between 1pm – 3pm.

    Don't forget starting next Friday we will have Jumperoo from 10am-12pm and School Day Play with follow right behind from 12pm-3pm.

  • Physical Education Hour (Fairmount Community Center, Sharpsburg)
