A Day in Warm Springs
Georgia has an abundance of small, beautiful towns and Warm Springs is no exception. We spent a lovely afternoon visiting the shops and here are the highlights:
Visiting all of the shops & fresh produce stands: Make sure you take plenty of time to browse all of the shops. There are some really great antique stores, and the shop owners were kind enough to take time to teach us all about the history of the antiques. If you like giving really unique gifts, you’ll definitely find lots of options at the various gift shops. Drawn to HIM Studios has some stunning art pieces and the produce stands in front of the storefront had a great selection of fresh produce which was an added bonus for us as we wanted to stop by a farmer’s market.
Hotel Warm Springs & Bed and Breakfast: This place will transport you back in time and was so neat to explore. While you’re there you have to stop by the ice cream shop for some homemade peach ice cream. Plus, the phone booth makes the perfect photo op (first picture on the left)!
Dinners Ready by Chad: I’ve heard a lot about The Bulloch House and really wanted to try it but on this particular trip I was with my mom along with my daughters. None of us felt we could eat at a buffet after walking around in the heat, so we decided to visit The Bulloch House next time. This time, we tried Dinners Ready by Chad and let me tell you it was a treat! The food was fresh, the sweet tea was refreshing, and the desserts did not disappoint. 10/10 we definitely recommend Dinners Ready by Chad.
Warm Springs National Fish Hatchery: If you haven’t visited the fish hatchery in Warm Springs it is close to the downtown area, and I recommend taking a quick excursion there before or after you explore the downtown area. At the fish hatchery they recover fish listed under The Endangered Species Act. There’s a small indoor aquarium to walk through right off the parking lot that provides lots of educational information. Walking around the hatchery is peaceful and serene as you take in the beauty of nature along with acres of marine habitats. You can feed some of the fish as well which was the highlight for my kids on our last visit.
Whether you're interested in a weekend outing, day trip or weekend trip Warm Springs is full of history, relaxation and many local treasures to discover!
