Spring Break Family Travel Destinations

Spring break is around the corner and here are my top 4 ideas for family spring break travel 2025!

  1. Jacksonville, Florida

Things to Do:

  • Visit the many beaches

  • Satisfy your sweet tooth at Sweet Pete’s Candy Shop! (400 North Hogan Street

    Jacksonville, FL 32202)

  • Grab a bite to eat at The French Pantry and Safe Harbor Restaurant

  • Check out the museum of science and history, MOSH

  • Ride the Skyway (This is on our future to do list)

  • Take a day trip to St Augustine, there’s a TON to do here!

2. Orlando, Florida

Things to Do:

  • Spend the day at Disney Springs and/or Universal CityWalk

  • Visit Legoland Theme Park and Water Park. This is a great affordable and less crowded alternative to Disney World.

  • Visit the Crayola Experience, another great affordable option outside of Disney.

  • If you go to Disney’s Epcot don’t miss the Animation Experience at Conservation Station. This was a hidden gem that we really enjoyed our last visit!

  • Visit Celebration Farmer’s Market on Sunday

  • Spend a day enjoying fun and entertainment on International Drive!

3. Williamsburg, VA

Things to Do:

  • Embrace the local history at these historic sites: Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown Settlement

  • Get an adrenaline rush at Bush Gardens.

  • Visit the free Botanical Gardens.

  • Have a beach day!

4. Go Camping!

Things to Do:

  • Put away your devices and explore nature.

  • Make s’mores and tell stories around the fire.

  • Explore free things to do in the area. A scavenger hunt where the winner chooses dinner can make this a fun activity for kids.

  • Do a random act of kindness as a family and leave an encouraging note along with snacks at different campsites.

If you’re near Ohio I highly recommend visiting White Star Quarry Beach. This was such a nice low key camping trip.

5. Road Trip Across the USA

Things to Do:

  • Pick a fun travel destination that’s at least 10 hours from where you live.

  • Make a list of stops along the way with your kids. These could be state parks, landmarks or one-of-a-kind things like the biggest basket in the world (we visited this landmark many years ago on a short road trip, leave a comment below if you know the location).

  • Give your kids a notebook to jot down and color the things they see along the way. Our daughter brought her Instax camera so she could take pictures to put in her travel journal.

  • If you are stopping to rest along the way, pick a unique motel, boutique hotel or landmark hotel to stay at for the night!

We did this three years ago when we went to Arizona and it was so much fun! We shared a vlog about it you can see here.

These are just a few ideas to get your spring break travel plans started. I’ll be posting some fun staycation ideas soon if you’d prefer to avoid the travel rush.
