Our Homeschool Journey: A Weekly Reflection

November 25-29

Weekly Reflection: This week I was thinking back on my why. Why did we make the decision to homeschool? There were many reasons, but the biggest one was the amount of time we had together as a family. When I was trying to make a decision in 2020, I decided to calculate the hours I would spend with my children if they stayed in school compared to if we homeschooled. Seeing the two numbers on paper was life changing and sad. Parenthood is such a small season of life as it is but when you add in work, school and extra curriculars it’s so much less. I couldn’t imagine sending my kids back to school after seeing that number. Even though it has been rough the last few years with our whole family under one roof most days I wouldn’t trade one of these precious minutes with the people I love.
