It's Inauguration Day 2025. This is a great time for kids to learn about and witness history. Here are some Inauguration Day activities!

2. When you have young kids snacks are always a good idea. We plan on making red, white and blue cupcakes to eat while we watch the inauguration. Follow your favorite cupcake recipe and add some blue food coloring to the batter. Ice your cupcakes with white icing and top with a strawberry cut in half. Voilà, that's what I call the perfect snack to celebrate a historic day in the USA!

5. Check out this list of activities ideas for Inauguration Day 2025
Writing assignment idea for older kids: Have students write the speech they would give if they were going to be president.
Presidential Relay Race: The starting point of your relay race (if you only have two people it will just be a race to see who finishes the fastest) will be the campaign trail. Make a line with tape, sticks or chalk and carefully walk along it. Next, is the debate. Draw a picture of something to do with the presidential election. Your team has to guess what you drew before you can move on. Grab a potato sack or have someone help you tie your ankles together hop down the election path all the way to the finish line to inauguration day. For a large group each person should complete this and run back for the next person to start. The team who finishes first wins!

Make a presidential timeline with all the US Presidents: Look up the presidents and the years they were in office. Copy this down on paper or notecards and make a timeline. See if kids can find some fun facts about each president.
