Life Hack: Keep Those Gorgeous Flowers Looking Great All Week (or two) Long

Let's be honest, sometimes those beautiful flowers just don't last as long as we'd like. They arrive looking vibrant and cheerful, but by mid-week, they're drooping like my energy after having kids. We've all been there! But fear not, this simple recipe is your secret weapon. It's so easy, you can whip it up with the kids, and it will keep your blooms looking fresh and fabulous all week (or two) long. No more wilted Wednesdays – just long-lasting beauty to brighten your home (and your mood!).

Here’s the recipe:

  • First, fill your favorite vase with water. Then add the following to your vase of water: 1 tsp bleach, 1 tsp lemon or lime juice, 1 tsp sugar. Mix it together then cut your flowers at an angle and remove any leaves. Arrange your flowers in the vase and enjoy!

The flowers in the picture above were from the grocery store and lasted two weeks. I purchased some discount flowers after Easter, and they lasted about two weeks as well despite being a little wilted. So, this is your sign, go out and get some beautiful spring flowers!
